“Heart of the People” is a figural pendant that pays homage to matriarchal influences in our lives, reflected in my visual interpretation of a traditional Southern Plains Buckskin dancer.

The love of her People, her Traditions and her Lands are reflected in her face; her movements reflect the strength, pride and grace that she brings to fruition in a modern world.

It is from these Grandmothers and Mothers and Two Spirit Relatives that, as we grow, we learn about different forms of love, absorb ways to respect and forgive, and cherish the bonds of family and friends- all essential parts of being, belonging and bettering the human family.”
